Goodbye, arctic cold front. It will feel like a heat wave in Denver on Friday as soft southerly winds help push temperatures above freezing and on up into the 40s.
Winds out of the south and southwest of between 5 to 7 mph are expected, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
The low Friday night will be 23, which is five degrees above Thursday’s high temperature of 18 degrees.
On Saturday, temperatures will rise to around 48 degrees. There’s a 10 percent chance of rain after 11 a.m., the NWS says.
The southerly breeze will be replaced by northeast winds gusting up to 21 mph at night. The rain will turn to snow Saturday night, according to forecasters.
High temperatures will hover in the low 40s Sunday and Monday before dipping to 30s and 20s Tuesday through Thursday, the NWS forecasts.
There will be a chance of snow Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. It will be partly sunny on Thursday with a high near 31 degrees.
