Re: Dec. 3 guest commentary.

Seth Wiggins is right about Donald Trump and the unstable heated planet he will lead us to. Gutting environmental protections appears to be his higher priority with his expected assault on the Environmental Protection Agency and rejecting the landmark Paris climate change treaty.

Certain members of our Congress should forsake “party loyalty” for a loyalty to the people, water, land and clean air of our nation and indeed the world. For climate change deniers, it is time for them to pull their heads out of the sand of ignorance and avoidance and open their eyes to what is happening in the Arctic, the melting ice cap in Greenland, the rise in ocean levels, and the onset of ever more destructive weather events exacerbated by climate change.

A Trump administration leading an effort to further bury our national imperative to lead on addressing climate change is unacceptable.
