Derrick White was named the Pac-12 men’s basketball player of the week on Monday.

The Colorado senior guard averaged 22.0 points and 4.0 rebounds last week as the Buffaloes went 1-1 — the victory over No. 13 Xavier on Wednesday.

White — who played at Legend High School in Parker — tallied 23 points, six rebounds and four assists against Xavier. His clutch blocked shot in the final moments of the game clinched the victory for CU (7-3).

On the season, he leads the Buffs in scoring (15.6) and assists (3.3). Colorado’s next game will be at home against Fort Hays State at noon on Dec. 17.

White is no stranger to accolades, earning Division II All-America honors during his sophomore and junior seasons at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
