The Broncos, donning blue jerseys for the first time since Week 7 against the Texans, had a couple of curveballs to add to their typical 46-man active game-day roster Sunday ahead of a big showdown with the Patriots.
The biggest news is that linebacker , who had been battling an oblique injury all week, is active and expected to start. Denver already ruled linebacker out with a hamstring injury Friday so they were hopeful not to miss both starting inside linebackers.
Davis may not take his full workload and run stopping linebacker Zaire Anderson is expected to play as well. will make the start for Marshall.
Wide receiver is active after being a healthy scratch last week against Tennessee. He will take the spot of rookie returner Kalif Raymond, who is inactive. Norwood is expected to return to his role as the Broncos’ third receiver and punt returner with Raymond out.
Denver also made a switch up with their backup offensive linemen making inactive in place of Billy Turner. It’s the first time Turner, a midseason waiver pickup, has been active in a Broncos uniform this season. He will assume the role of a swing guard/tackle.
Quarterback Austin Davis, guard Connor McGovern, cornerback and outside linebacker Vontarrius Dora were the other inactives to go along with Marshall, Raymond and Sambrailo.
On the Patriots side, newly acquired receiver and injured wide out were among their notable inactives. Rookie returner and cornerback Cyrus Jones is also inactive.
