
Shoplift ends in divorce. Lakewood police responded to a shoplifting attempt Dec. 6 at Kohl’s 3150 S. Wadsworth Blvd. with a husband and wife as suspects. When the couple ran, the woman was caught and bit a loss prevention employee. The husband got away and escaped into a nearby ditch. The woman was taken to the hospital due to an asthma attack and said she couldn’t believe her husband left her. She offered to turn him in and said she would be filing for divorce.
Cough angers man. On Dec. 6, police responded to a disturbance at Target, 14500 W. Colfax Ave., where a suspect was trying to fight people. Police contacted the suspect nearby, who said that he felt disrespected when someone coughed in his direction. He claimed he raised his voice, but was not out of control. Staff said the man tried to pick a fight with three people. He was cited for disorderly conduct.
Dog fight. A woman called police Dec. 4 to report an aggressive dog on the loose in the 700 block of South Routt Way. The dog was returned to the owner and she was cited. The reporting party called again the next day to report her dog was injured and required stitches from the incident the previous day.
Ex nearly bites off finger. On Sept. 28, a man called police after his soon-to-be ex wife bit him, nearly taking his finger off. Police met the man near the intersection of West First Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, where the woman had thrown him out of the truck while it was still moving. The man had suspected the woman had used meth and she bit him when he put his hands up to defend himself during a physical altercation.
