Authorities in Moffat County have identified the 58-year-old worker  by a heavy, metal object in an industrial accident at a landfill near Craig.

Darrell Snow, a Moffat County Road and Bridge employee, was completing snow removal and transportation operations at the county landfill when he died. The county sheriff’s office did not elaborate on how or why Snow was hit by the object.

“The impact, force and severity of the trauma sustained resulted in nonsurvivable injuries,” the sheriff’s office said Friday. “Snow was alone at the time of the incident, no suspicious circumstances are suspected.”

Snow’s death remains under investigation.
