Down 14-0 to the Chiefs on Sunday, the Broncos needed a momentum shift.

Enter rookie Justin Simmons.

The safety, who is starting for injured starter T.J. Ward, intercepted a pass by Smith late in the first quarter and returned it to the KC 6-yard line.

The play set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Justin Forsett to cut the lead down to 14-7.
