Much of the top 10 most-clicked sports stories had nothing to do with athletic performance

2016 was a dark time for just about every sports team in Colorado that didn’t play football (or futbol). While the Broncos were riding high on a Super Bowl win and the Buffs resurrected the legacy of Colorado college football and the Rapids scrapped their way to the Western Conference Finals, the Rockies, Avalanche and Nuggets saw coaching changes, missed chances and loss after loss after loss.

Like , much of the top 10 most-clicked non-Broncos sports stories had nothing to do with athletic performance. With the tragic deaths of , former Avs winger and a , the list is punctuated with loss, but there are bright points.

Mark Kiszla’s column — written in Rio De Janeiro  — on and the  both made it into the Top 10.
