Stella’s on 16th in the Union Station neighborhood won’t open for another few weeks, but we are not patient people. And so, with a chant of ‘We want Danish open sandwiches, and we want them now!’ we persuaded the husband and wife team of Brian and Dawn “Stella” Cohen to give us a sneak peek at their new eatery’s menu.
Opening the week of Jan. 23, Stella’s will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but it’s the carbilicious a.m. items – rumor has it that brown sugar pancakes with maple glazed bacon and salted pecans will be on the griddle – that have us drooling.
Caveat: the menu isn’t 100 percent final and we can’t guarantee that everything you see here will make the final cut, but we’re sure they’re open to our rioting polite suggestions.
