The city’s hotly disputed Strawberry Fields land swap with The Broadmoor has been finalized, but opponents say it’s not a done deal until the Colorado Court of Appeals rules on their appeal.

“All necessary documents, including the conservation easement held by the Palmer Land Trust, have been executed and recorded,” says a Friday email from Karen Palus, director of city Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.

Save Cheyenne, the group suing the city over the trade, was surprised by the quick finish, especially of the conservation easement, said Richard Skorman, president of the nonprofit group.
