High speed and a curve in the road unnoticed by William Durie Jr. likely contributed to a fiery Broomfield crash earlier this month.
Durie, an Erie man, was driving his 2011 Ford Escape east on Sheridan Parkway on Dec. 5 when he lost control and struck a light pole in the 15600 block.
Witnesses told police Durie was driving in an “aggressive manner, illegally passing other eastbound traffic in the westbound lanes.”
North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to the crash, which killed Durie and shut down traffic in the area for several hours.
