While I agree Interstate 25 south of Castle Rock has too few lanes for the explosion in the number of vehicles traveling it, and believe it should be widened, one step can be taken now to immediately improve safety along the highway: removal of the recently installed guard rails that have so severely restricted the ability of drivers to move well out of traffic when pulled over by police or in the event of an emergency. I was flummoxed when I saw those guardrails being put up — this was clearly going to worsen the safety of the motoring public. Sadly, that has come true, and two state troopers have paid the price for this foolishness with their lives.
