Re: “,” Jan. 3 news story.
I believe it is important to note that three of the GOP representatives from Colorado — Congressmen Mike Coffman, Ken Buck and Doug Lamborn all voted against changing the Office of Congressional Ethics.
They are to be congratulated for letting the people’s watchdog stand rather than dismantling it or moving it under the oversight and control of the very body it was set up to monitor. Most of them mentioned that it was not a priority matter. Hopefully they are not waiting until the public eye is distracted to do away with this oversight!
It should also be noted that Rep. Scott Tipton would not reveal how he voted — because he went along with this behind-closed-doors effort to allow house members to police themselves. He should be ashamed of himself.

Re: “” Jan. 3 editorial.
Is that really how you’re going to play it for the next four years? House members get tens of thousands of phone calls complaining about their trashing of the ethics board and you report that Trump swayed them with one tweet? All hail the all powerful Trump!
