While Meryl Streep may be right in criticizing President-elect Donald Trump for seeming to imitate a physically challenged person, the Golden Globes telecast is not the time nor the platform for scathing political remarks — especially not against a president-elect.
I can’t remember any actor criticizing anything about a Democrat at such a platform, so we know where Hollywood stands.
Actors certainly have a huge platform for reaching a vast number of people, but, seriously, do we have to pull politics into a program celebrating movie and TV artists? President-elect Trump is far from perfect; he has many faults as we all know. But he is going to be our president on Jan. 20.
So, please Hollywood — stick to your business and don’t put a stain on a celebratory program. You’ll have plenty of places and time coming up for criticism.

I was not surprised in the least to see that the immature, undignified, paranoid president-elect reacted to the great speech Meryl Streep gave at the Golden Globes last night. Any other president in our history would have ignored it and showed some maturity and class by doing so.
This man is a disgrace and has the mentality of a child who has never grown up. His constant denial of mocking a disabled man when we all saw him do it on TV is typical of his dishonesty and lack of character.
I hope everyone who feels the way so many of us feel will not turn on the TV the day of the inauguration and give this despicable man the attention he seems to thrive on. It’s a sad, sad day for this country when a person like this is going to be our leader.
I will never understand how anyone in his or her right mind thinks he has any part of what it takes to lead a great country like the U.S.
