Douglas County Crime Blotter: Parents report daughter for injecting cold medicine

Not your average remedy. A couple called police to their apartment in the 10000 block of Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree, on Jan. 1 claiming their daughter was using heroin in her room. Police found the daughter had been injecting herself with cold medicine, which is not illegal but is dangerous.

What a drag. A trailer used to store chairs and other equipment for a church was stolen from the parking lot of Academy Charter School, 1551 Prairie Hawk Drive, Castle Rock, sometime between Dec. 18 and 20. The 17-foot trailer was left at the school between services because class was out for winter break. It was empty, and was valued at $5,200.

Falling out the hard way. A woman living in the 1100 block of Plum Creek Parkway, Castle Rock, reported that a former friend harassed her Dec. 13 and 14. The victim said she told the suspect she was ending their friendship. The suspect then repeatedly called her, left angry messages and came to her apartment and banged on the door. Police warned the suspect to stop or face charges.

Scammers spend big. A woman living in Castle Rock reported Dec. 16 that several fraudulent accounts had recently been opened in her name. A Lane Bryant store credit card was opened in Houston. An AT&T account with two phone lines was set up in May. The woman was billed for more than $4,700 in past due payments on those accounts.

Bad tags bring bust. An unidentified driver was pulled over near the intersection of Parker Road and East Valley Hi Drive, Parker, Dec. 13 for expired temporary tags. The driver’s license was revoked and the person had an active warrant. They were arrested.
