The Rapids advanced to the MLS Western Conference Finals after defeating the Galaxy 3-1 in penalty kicks after a 1-0 win today (1-1 aggregate score).
Major League Soccer on Thursday released its full 2017 schedule.
As previously announced, the Rapids will open at home against the New England Revolution on March 4, and will face the New York Red Bulls in their first road match March 11.
The Rapids have five nationally-televised matches scheduled, with the other 29 to air on Altitude.
Colorado will get its first look at expansion side Minnesota United FC in a March 18 home match, and will travel to the Twin Cities on April 23. The Rapids then travel to Georgia for their first-ever match against expansion Atlanta United FC on June 24.
For the 22nd consecutive time, the Rapids will play on the Fourth of July, this time against defending MLS Cup champions Seattle Sounders FC. It’s the second consecutive year they will face the defending champs on July 4.
Colorado will face three Western Conference foes three times — Dallas, Vancouver and Real Salt Lake — and the other seven Western Conference teams twice each. The Rapids face each Eastern Conference team once, five at home and six on the road.
The Rapids schedule includes six midweek games. MLS will take a break from July 7-16 for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Additionally, the Rapids will play in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and the CONCACAF Champions League, but those matches have not yet been announced.
