Lakewood police have arrested two men for investigation of homicide in the Jan. 4 death of a man who staggered into a 7-Eleven before collapsing near the front counter.
Charles Joseph Martinez, 32, and Lawrence Angelo Arellano, 48, have been booked for investigation of first-degree murder, said Steve Davis, spokesman for the Lakewood Police Department.
Martinez and Arellano allegedly fatally stabbed James Michael Miller, 46, on the evening of Jan. 4, Davis said.
The two suspects and Miller knew each other, Davis said. They had a confrontation outside the convenience store in the 1100 block of South Sheridan Boulevard, he said.
The stabbing happened outside the store at around 9:10 p.m. Miller entered the store, said he was stabbed and collapsed. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The FBI and detectives from the Denver and Englewood police departments assisted in the murder investigation, Davis said.
