Sloans Lake Update, Theo the Beagle is safe!
— Denver Fire Department (@Denver_Fire)
It was a harrowing tale that ended in a reunion between pup and owner after the Denver Fire Department rescued Theo the beagle from an island in the middle of icy Sloan’s Lake Friday around noon.
Theo had an adventurous day, escaping from his backyard and taking off toward Sloan’s Lake. Free of his leash, Theo found his way to the island where he soaked in the fresh air and sun’s rays while surrounded by only ice, water and geese.
The Denver Fire Department showed up just after noon to rescue the pup, although their efforts didn’t seem to be appreciated by Theo, who ran away from them. But after sending in reinforcements, rescuers successfully brought Theo back to safety, much to his understandable dismay.
