Man asks to go to jail. Lakewood police responded to an argument between father and son Jan. 1 in the 6000 block of West Jefferson Place where the son had punched two holes in a wall. When police arrived, the son approached them and told the officers to take him to jail and that he was upset over his father giving some of his belongings to a friend. During this conversation, he flipped off his father. The son was taken to jail and charged with mischief.

Spark plug wires cut. On Dec. 28, a man called police to report that someone had cut his spark plug wires on his car in the 2100 block of Zephyr Street, Lakewood. The man said this was the second time in a week that this had happened. The first time he believed it to be animals, but now thinks a person is responsible.

Fraudulent return reported. On Dec. 28, Lakewood police responded to Walmart, 7455 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, on a report of a fraudulent return. The suspect reportedly found a receipt in the parking lot, went into the store, selected items on the receipt and attempted to return them. He was told not to return to the store.

Suspect breaks windows, hits man with car. Lakewood police responded to a disturbance Dec. 29 where a man was breaking windows with a bat and trying to run a man over with his truck in the 1100 block of South Allison Street. The suspect was an old co-worker of the victim and confronted the victim when he came outside. The suspect was not located.
