The Mountain West announced Monday it will not take any punitive action against either the New Mexico or Colorado State men’s basketball teams after incidents that happened Saturday during and after their game at Moby Arena.

The conference, in a release, said it will remain in contact with both programs as they take steps they deem appropriate.

According to the , members of both teams got into a verbal spat during warm-ups. The situation escalated in the second half when a screen set by New Mexico forward Joe Furstinger sent CSU guard J.D. Paige to the floor. Two New Mexico assistant coaches were ejected from the game for leaving the bench.

Colorado State went on to lose the game 84-71.

After the game, The Albuquerque Journal’s Geoff Grammer videoed a heated (and NSFW) CSU forward and New Mexico assistant coach Terrence Rencher.
