An inmate in the Arapahoe County jail has tested positive for tuberculosis.
Jail officials were notified of positive lab results Wednesday, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
The inmate is being treated, in isolation for the infectious bacterial disease, and additional steps are being taken to notify and test those who have had direct contact with the ill inmate.
Jail officials characterize the likelihood of transmission as very low.
