One person was rescued from the basement of a Denver home that caught fire early Thursday.
The blaze happened about 4 a.m. on the 3200 block of West Colorado Avenue. The Denver Fire Department says it was able to control the fire after arriving to find smoke and flames pouring from the home.
Photos from the scene showed the house with heavy damage.

Authorities say the rescued person and at least one other person — who was able to escape from the burning home on their own — were being evaluated for injuries.
“I’m not sure of the extent of their injuries,” said Melissa Taylor, a fire department spokeswoman.
Taylor says the fire’s cause remains under investigation.
