The final pieces of Vance Joseph’s new coaching staff in Denver are being put in place. George “Geep” Chryst is expected to be one of them.
The Broncos interviewed Chryst earlier this week and are close to appointing him the team’s new tight ends coach in place of Brian Pariani, an NFL source confirmed. Pariani was let go as part of the Broncos’ coaching overhaul.

Chryst, a former linebacker at Princeton, has been an NFL coach since 1991, working with the Bears, Cardinals, Chargers, Cardinals, Panthers and, most recently, the 49ers, as their quarterbacks coach (2011-14) and offensive coordinator (2015).
He spent five seasons (2006-10) as the tight ends and offensive quality coach in Carolina, where he worked with new Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy for three seasons. McCoy was the QBs coach and passing coordinator in that time.
