There’s a good chance for snow and it will be 20 degrees cooler Tuesday than it was on Monday in Denver, according to weather forecasters.
The weather change also brought fog to the Denver metro area Tuesday morning that caused some traffic delays at Denver International Airport.
It will be cloudy through the day and there is a 40 percent chance for snow, mostly between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Up to a half inch of new snow is possible.
Between 1 and 4 inches of snow is expected in the mountains, according to NWS meteorologists.
“Along with the colder temperatures, gusty winds can be expected over the plains,” the weather service forecasts. Cooler temperatures are expected.
A northwest wind gusting between 8 and 16 mph is forecast for Denver, weather forecasters predict. The high temperature will be around 34 degrees. The high was 54 degrees on Monday.
The temperature will dip to around 13 degrees Tuesday night.
High temperatures will remain in the 30s through the work week under partly sunny skies.
But on the weekend, the sun will be out and temperatures will rise back into the 40s, weather forecasters say.
The high will be around 42 degrees on Saturday and 47 on Sunday, the NWS says.
