A Union Pacific Railroad freight train derailed late Monday night.A Union Pacific Railroad freight train derailed late Monday night and many of the 25 cars that ran off the rails spilled their loads of coal.
Colorado 392 will be closed at U.S. 85 for a cleanup expected to last up to 12 hours, according to a news release from Cpl. Matt Turner, spokesman for the Weld County Sheriff’s Department.
The derailment happened at 11 p.m. The train damaged one building. No one was hurt, Turner said.
Union Pacific crews from Denver and Utah will investigate what triggered the derailment, he said.
