George Washington routs Denver South in Denver Prep League boys basketball

The Patriots jumped out to a huge lead over the Rebels and never looked back en route to the blowout victory

No. 2 George Washington put on a show for a packed Denver South gymnasium Friday night, racing to a 24-point halftime lead and nearly putting up triple digits en route to a 96-63 road win over the Rebels.

Senior point guard Jervay Green paced the Patriots with 22 points, with additional contributions from junior guard  Jon’il Fugett (19 points) and senior Calvin Fugett Jr (9 points, 6 assists).

The Patriots improved to 16-2 and are in action next at home on Jan. 31 against Kennedy, while the Rebels fell to 13-4 and play at Highlands Ranch on Feb. 1.
