Denver police are searching for a suspect after a man was critically hurt in a Capitol Hill stabbing early Sunday.

Denver police officers were called to the alley between the 1400 blocks of Emerson and Ogden streets about 2 a.m. Sunday where they found the man suffering from multiple stab wounds, spokesman Doug Schepman said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition. An update on his condition was not available Tuesday.

“The incident remains under investigation, but the preliminary indication is that an altercation occurred, resulting in the stabbing,” Schepman said.

Police say they have not made any arrests in the case and are working to develop suspect information.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
