
Denver prosecutors have charged a 38-year-old man, who is apparently on parole, with first-degree murder in a last week.
also is suspected of four counts of possession of a weapon by a previous offender in the slaying of 22-year-old Benjamin Lorenzo.
The shooting happened in the early-morning hours of Jan. 25 at an apartment building in the 3900 block of Morrison Road. Investigators have not said what motivated the killing.
Lamebull is due in court Friday for an advisement. He is being held without bail at Denver’s downtown jail.
Lamebull has an extensive criminal history in Colorado dating to 1996. He has been convicted of receiving stolen property, car theft, drug possession, smuggling contraband into prison, menacing with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by a felon, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records.
He was on probation in 2012 when he was arrested in Denver for aggravated robbery and menacing with a deadly weapon, records show.
A man with the same name and age as Lamebull is listed on the Colorado Department of Corrections website as being on parole.
