A Pueblo police officer shot and killed a suspect who backed into a police car, hit a parked vehicle and turned the car toward the officer early Sunday.
Officers went to the area of Small and Acero avenues at 12:15 a.m. to locate a wanted party, police said.
When they contacted an occupied vehicle parked on Small avenue, the driver “backed his vehicle into a police car before driving forward, colliding into a parked vehicle and directing his car at officers,” according to a news release.
Officers fired on the vehicle and hit the suspect, who died, the release said.
An investigation by the 10th Judicial District critical incident team is underway.
