Man hit with log. A man called police Jan. 29 after he was assaulted by a suspect in the 100 block of West Warren Avenue. The victim told police that the suspect began yelling at him and drove his car onto the curb in an attempt to hit him. He then got out of the vehicle and threw the log in his direction. The victim picked up the log and chased the suspect away.

Samaritan assaulted. On Jan. 30, a man called Denver police after he was assaulted while trying to break up a fight in the Lawrence Street Community Center, 2222 Lawrence St. The victim said two suspects were fighting and when he stepped in between and was hit in the chest by one of the suspects.

Noise complaint leads to arrest. Police responded to a noise complaint Jan. 27 in the 2300 block of Cleveland Place where the suspect had threatened the disturbed party. When police arrived, the music was so loud on the floor, they could not converse. When contact, the suspect turned down the music, but made derogatory comments about the victim, leading to his arrest.

Victim robbed. On Jan. 25, a man was robbed at gunpoint while walking near West Fifth Avenue and Yates Street. The victim told police that a suspect exited a vehicle and pointed a gun at him, demanding his money. The victim gave over his money and his backpack at which time the suspect got back in the car and drove away.

Assault at The Drink. Police were dispatched to a fight Jan. 26 at The Drink, 1320 15th St. The victim was the manager of the bar, who was punched by a suspect after the suspect poured drinks over the bar and damaged his phone. The suspect was placed in cuffs but still ran away. He was later caught.
