Bad news for Nashville hot chicken fans: Frank Bonanno’s Lou’s Food Bar is frying its last bird and closing its doors.

After six years in the Sunnyside neighborhood, Sunday, Feb. 12 will be the last day for the most retro and accessible of Bonanno’s Denver restaurants.

“We received a real estate offer on Lou’s that we could not pass up,” said  Bonanno Concepts’ PR and marketing manager Ellie Logue. “But there will definitely be some fried chicken in the future.”

Here’s to hoping that Frank’s Hot Chicken makes its Denver debut sooner rather than later.
