Re: “” Feb. 4 Chuck Plunkett column.

Contrary to Chuck Plunkett’s despicable diatribe calling President Donald Trump a “thug” suffering from “brain rot” and “delusions of grandeur,” I suspect Osama bin Laden would be disappointed in the election results. This election has led to the end of the eight-year dismantling of America as a world power by the ever-apologetic President Barack Obama and the like-minded progressives he surrounded himself with. Apparently Plunkett is oblivious to the chaos that threatens our world by the concept of open borders and our previously feckless leadership in international diplomacy.

The nationalism that Obama abandoned, and which Trump is trying to revive along with securing our borders, is not xenophobia, but is the president’s No. 1 sworn duty: protect the citizens of the United States. To characterize Trump’s actions as anything else places Plunkett in the “basket of deplorables” who refuse to accept the results and legitimacy of this election.

Thanks to Chuck Plunkett for his column on Osama bin Laden and Donald Trump. It’s so discouraging when the news media tiptoes around the catastrophe of Trump as president. Plunkett absolutely called it as it is, with no sugar coating. In my many years of voting in presidential elections, I’ve never seen such total chaos and had such shame for the individual who is now in office. I find it sad that those who voted him into office based on his wild promises will be greatly disappointed when he can’t deliver. He is totally skilled at selling “blue sky” and operates as the best carnival shill around. One would have to write a book to cover all the lies, insults and grandiose comments this man makes. To think we have such gullible citizens in this country who didn’t do their homework before heading to the polls is a sad disappointment.
