Re: Feb. 4 Dottie Lamm column.
I adore Dottie Lamm and read her columns faithfully. Her most recent column was spot on with the exception of one word. She characterized the participants in the Women’s March on Washington as “mellow”.
I, too, was at the Women’s March on Washington and found the marchers to be exceptionally respectful, patient and kind — but by no means mellow. In my view, they were incredibly fired up and united in their opposition to Trump — his priorities, his policies and his presidency.
Though Trump and his GOP cronies dismissed the marchers as non-voters (hardly) and paid protesters (please), we say to them: Ignore the marchers in Washington and across this country at your peril. We are mobilizing and ready for a fight for human rights, education, health care, and environmental protections — and we are just getting started.
