Adams County Crime Blotter: Man’s neighbor chases thief to get his bike back

Foiled bicycle theft. The neighbor of a man who lives in the 12100 block of Hannibal Street, Commerce City, saw a strange man poking around his neighbor’s house Jan. 2. The suspect grabbed a bike from the yard and took off on it. The neighbor got in his car and followed the suspect, who eventually dumped the bike in someone’s yard and ran away.

Burglarized tattoo shop. A snow removal worker called police to Black Lotus Tattoo, 3972 E. 104th Ave., Thornton because he noticed that someone smashed in the front door with a rock Dec. 17. A few tattoo guns were stolen along with a cash drawer near the register. There are no suspects.

Range Rover blows through stop sign. Northglenn officers directing traffic in the area of Quivas Street and Pompey Way stopped a car that ignored a stop sign Jan. 2. The driver was arrested for being intoxicated, and another man was taken into custody on warrants.

His brother’s name. Store security at Walmart, 5990 Dahlia St., Commerce City, called police Jan. 2 because a man who had been trespassed a month earlier for shoplifting and fighting with employees was back inside the store. The suspect gave police his brother’s name and was released on scene, but the officer found out later that the man was lying. He tried to find the suspect’s house, but couldn’t.

BB spree. On Jan. 17, someone shattered a window on a man’s work truck with a BB gun while it was parked in the 10800 block of Claire Lane, Northglenn.

Stolen car. A woman reported that her car was stolen from her home in the 11700 block of Elati Court, Northglenn, on Jan. 16. There are no suspects.
