One man is in serious condition with multiple stab wounds and a second man was stabbed in the leg in a fight that broke out early Wednesday morning at the Snowy Range Motel in Commerce City.
The first victim was conscious when he was taken to a hospital with multiple stab wounds in his side and back, Commerce City Police spokesman Cmdr. Robert Thomas said.
The second victim called shortly before 7 a.m. reporting that he had been stabbed in the leg during the same confrontation.
The suspect, a white man about 6-feet tall wearing a red hoodie, was seen running from the motel at 750 Colorado 2 in Commerce City. The man had long brown or black hair and appeared to be in his 20s, Thomas said.
Police were called to a 7-Eleven on the 6300 block of East 72nd Avenue at 3:30 a.m. The first victim was bleeding in the back seat of a car, Thomas said.
He identified the suspect and said he had been stabbed following an argument that had broken out at the motel a few blocks away.
Police are not releasing the name of the suspect while they are attempting to verify his identity.
Authorities are interviewing a witness at the motel.
More than three hours later another man called saying that he had also been stabbed in the same incident, Thomas said. The same suspect had stabbed the second man, he said.
“It happened at the same time but this victim is just calling us,” Thomas said at 6:49 a.m.
