
Police say a man had been shot several times and that his body had apparently been dumped in the water when he was killed in November.
The remains of were found Saturday by a passer-by at about 12:15 p.m northwest of the busy intersection of South Broadway and West Jefferson Avenue.
Sgt. Chad Read, an Englewood police spokesman, said he could not comment on the details of the case, including how Murphy’s body was in the pond for so long without anyone noticing.
Investigators believe Murphy was killed early on the morning of Nov. 12 near the pond and that his body was then left there. Authorities have not said where he was from.
Read declined to say if a suspect or suspects in the case have been identified.
