Colorado State senior guard Ellen Nystrom was named Monday the Mountain West women’s basketball player of the week, the third time she’s earned the honor of the season.
Nystrom nearly averaged a triple-double in two games, recording 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists, leading the Rams (22-6, 7-1 in Mountain West) to wins over New Mexico and San Diego State. The victories clinched CSU’s fourth straight Mountain West regular season title.
The native of Sweden leads the Rams in points (15.1), assists (5.4) and steals (2.04), and is second in rebounds (7.9) and blocks (0.68).
CSU finishes its regular season this week with games at Wyoming on Tuesday and at home against Nevada on Friday.
