Eaglecrest used a balanced team effort to dispatch Denver East in Great 8 play at the Denver Coliseum on Saturday. The No. 1-ranked Raptors posted a 72-53 win over the No. 9 Angels to earn their third consecutive Final Four berth.

Senior Ikenna Ozor led the way for Eaglecrest, and not because of his 14 points and four rebounds, but because of his tone and intensity. Colbey Ross sat for much of the first half for the Raptors due to foul trouble. Ross finished with 19 points while senior Josh Walton poured in 14 points a in game that showed why the Raptors have been a title favorite all season.

Denver East was paced by senior point guard Jamison Washington’s 20 points. Junior guard Daylen Kountz had 19 points.

Though the Angels came up a few wins short of the program’s 12th state title, the Denver Prep League runner-up has plenty of firepower returning next season with the likes of Kountz and junior center Assane Diouf.
