A 34-year-old man arrested Wednesday night in Pueblo County on suspicion of DUI died as he was being booked into jail.
The man, who was not identified, was arrested by a state trooper, according to a Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office news release.
He had gone through the booking process and was about to be taken to jail when he “suffered a medical emergency,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office said the man had been “cooperative” through the process. Medical staffers attempted life-saving measures. An autopsy is pending.
