What a time to be the Denver Zoo.
First, it’s a , then, and of course there was the adorable . Then, last night, it got its own skit on “Saturday Night Live.”
Though, it did get pretty darn weird.
The skit opens with the city skyline and some jazzy music for—”Good Day Denver,” a fictional morning broadcast full of good news and good people. (Extra points for the orange and blue there, SNL.)
A quick banter between Janet Loredo-Deekman (Cecily Strong) with her classic broadcast coiffe and Alan “fun tie” Overbrook (Bobby Moynihan), and off to Denver Zoo we go for a live report.
In the toss, Deekman—accidentally say Donna Hemming (Scarlette Johnasen) is with an “animal pornographer.” Despite correcting his title to animal photographer, it’s all down hill from there in a skit that’s NFSW — also known as not safe for work.
See for yourself:
Wasting no time, Denver Zoo’s CEO Shannon Block came back with a great response in the morning.
While I want to thank the good day reporter on let me assure everyone that Danny Bangs is and never was an employee of Denver Zoo.
