DeMarcus Ware called it a career after 12 seasons, including his last three seasons with the Broncos. He’s one of the most well-respected leaders in NFL history and a role model for a legion of young pass rushers.

Here’s a collection of comments, tweets and congratulations from his former teammates and people throughout the NFL:

Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall to The Denver Post via text: “D Ware was probably my favorite guy in the locker room. The most humble guy you would ever meet. Always has a smile on his face. He loved helping the young guys come along. And he helped me in a way he doesn’t even know. We’re going to miss his leadership in the locker room, on and off the field.”
