An 18-year-old high school student has been arrested for allegedly making threats on social media about shooting fellow students.

Frank DeFiore, a Prairie View High School student, was arrested Friday on suspicion of interference with the staff, faculty or students of educational institutions, as well as harassment, according to the Brighton Police Department.

DeFiore allegedly posted threats on a social media site linked to another student. School workers contacted police after a student showed the material to a school administrator.

“The posts contained references to wanting to shoot students at the school,” a police news release said Tuesday.

Police said DeFiore was in possession of “numerous weapons” and that he recently made threatening or alarming statements to several people.
