A 40-year-old Brighton man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs, first-degree assault and attempted first-degree murder that left a 25-year-old Northglenn woman seriously hurt.

Jorge Miguel Puga was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the March 2, multi-vehicle wreck on U.S. 85 at 124th Avenue.
Puga is also suspected of driving under revocation, reckless driving, vehicular assault while reckless driving and vehicular assault while driving under the influence.
The wreck happened about 2 p.m. on March 2 when police say Puga, driving a gray, 2004 Ford Mustang northbound, slammed into the woman’s 2004 Subaru Outback at 124th Avenue.
Witnesses said the Ford has been “maneuvering erratically on northbound Highway 85, passing multiple vehicles at high rates of speed and running red lights at three intersections” before the wreck, according to Brighton police.
