A rendering of the Aurora Highlands development

A rendering of the Aurora Highlands development. Plans include affordable housing in addition to multi-family and single family homes with prices tentatively slated between $200,000 to more than $1 million. Early plans include designs for a master entryway to the community marked with a large monument.

Re: March 14 news story.

Am I the only person who is extremely alarmed about the prospect of another development? The Aurora Highlands project will add 23,000 new homes and 60,000 additional people to the Denver metro area.

We already have one of the worst traffic situations in the country, spending hours trying to get to and from work. Most importantly, we live in a semi-desert climate. There will absolutely not be enough water for the continued influx of people.

What are our elected officials doing to address the declining quality of life for the citizens here and for the scary prospect of water shortages? Governor, please slow down this out-of-control growth!
