Despite several record-breaking days, February was still not the warmest on record, although it did make the top 10.

Last month was the sixth warmest February in Denver’s history with an average of 40.3 degrees, tying two other years — 1991 and 1907 — for the spot, National Weather Service spokeswoman Natalie Sullivan said. The typical February average is 32.5 degrees. If those averages seem low, keep in mind that the average accounts for both the highs and the lows.

The hottest recorded February was in 1954 with an average temperature of 43.7 degrees.
