A cool down along the Front Range begins Tuesday and could bring some rain showers with it later in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.

The high temperature will be around 68 degrees with wind gusts up to 21 mph, the weather service says.

Expect mostly sunny skies Wednesday and Thursday with highs of 73 and 71 respectively. But a chance for thunderstorms pops into the forecast Thursday afternoon along with gusty winds at up to 34 mph.

While Denver has a chance for rain, the mountains could collect several inches of snow, the weather service says.

Denver’s chance for rain increases to around 70 percent Thursday night with rain expected to continue falling Friday morning.

Expect Friday to be cool and blustery Friday, with a high temperature of around 52 degrees.

Sunshine and warmer temperatures return Friday with a high near 61.

There is a slight chance for rain on both Sunday and Monday, the weather service says.
