A man who was struck by a vehicle near downtown Denver on Thursday and couldn’t remember who he was, after suffering what police say is amnesia, has been identified and reunited with family.

The crash happened at the intersection of West Eighth Avenue and Speer Boulevard. The man was on foot when he was hit.

Sonny Jackson, a Denver police spokesman, said the collision happened about 10 p.m. The driver of the vehicle that hit the man fled the area.

“The information is pretty vague at this point on the car that hit him,” Jackson said. “His injuries were not significant.”
