You have to wonder what’s behind Donald Trump’s proposed budget that maximizes military expenditure for hard-powered war preparation with more tanks, bombers, missiles and even more nuclear weapons being planned.
It should be remembered, however, that the most sophisticated and expensive military on earth, our own, could not prevent hijackers from using simple inexpensive box cutters to overpower commercial airline flights that flew into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon and Flight 93 that plowed into the ground in Pennsylvania on 9/11.
Having more military hardware and war machines may not make us any safer, but it will make us poorer and more in debt to other nations, some of whom do not like us very much and could call our debt due at any time.

I wish President Trump and those who agree with him that we need to increase military spending in order to “keep us safe” would heed the counsel of the Psalmist: “A king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength. The war horse is a vain hope for victory, and by its great might it cannot save (Psalm 33: 16,17).”

Is it just me, or is it immoral to propose deleting the Meals for Wheels Program from the Budget the same weekend President Trump’s whole family goes to skiing in Aspen where the probable expenditures for Air Force One and Secret Service coverage is the same as the $3M being deleted for Meals for Wheels?

Regarding the Federal budget, I agree with Neil deGrasse Tyson when he ,
“The fastest way to Make a America Weak Again: Cut science funds to our agencies that support it. The fastest way to Make America Sick Again: Cut funding to the National Institutes of Health.
The fastest way to Make America Stupid: Cut funds to programs that support education. The fastest way to thwart Earth’s life-support systems for us all: Turn EPA into EDA — the Environmental Destruction Agency.”
