“Witnesses on scene told us that the driver failed to physically open the gate by hand so he used his big rig as a battering ram,” the State Patrol’s office in Castle Rock said on Twitter. “All charges against this truck driver are misdemeanor in nature.”

The State Patrol said “this will get you a little time in jail — an intentional act to open a closed interstate.”
The driver’s name was not released.
