Passive-aggressive living situation. Three women who live together in the 920 block of Peoria Street have not been getting along. On March 13, one of the women came home angry and went into another’s woman’s bedroom and slashed a 3-inch hole in the air mattress before saying she was moving out.
Backhanded deals. A woman started renting a car from a man she met on Craigslist, but she was falling behind on payments. On March 13, the car went missing from her home in the 16500 block of East Tufts Avenue. Police discovered that the man paid another girl to steal his car back, but the hired thief also stole the victim’s wallet. He was charged with theft.
Creepy note left in car. A woman called police to the 15400 block of East Briarwood Circle because her ex-boyfriend, whom she is seeking a protective order from, left a know that said, “I know who Patrick is …” on her driver’s seat March 10. He also stole the woman’s gear shift knob. He is being sought for theft.
Refund ruse foiled. A couple infamous for stealing items and then returning them for cash was spotted by a loss prevention employee for Home Depot, 5600 S. Chambers Road. They tried to leave the store with four rolls of masking tape March 20, but the employee stopped them at the door.
Dine, dash, and then some. Police responded to Hiro Japanese Buffet, 2797 S. Parker Road because a man didn’t pay for his food March 13. The suspect also stole a bucket collecting charity money on his way out.
